The EZPZ Swarm Cell Cage was designed for beekeepers who harvest queen cells off frames. Instead of moving a whole frame of swarm cells to a split, each can be carefully removed with a sharp knife and placed into the cage to emerge safely in a queen bank or incubator. In this way, you can see the quality of your queen before placing her in a split or mating nuc.

Use them to protect your queens as they emerge. They work with the Banker for holding in a hive on a frame or with the Tray for holding in an incubator.

Each cage has small troughs in the bottom to provision the queen. The cage is designed to clamshell shut securely after inserting the swarm cell. Once your virgin emerges, use your fingers or the Swarm Cell Cage Adapter to open and evaluate. With care it can be used many times.

Made of sturdy PETG plastic. 

This cage and the adapter were inspired by beekeeper Aaron Weber, who was a full collaborator in the design process from early prototypes and field testing to the completed product.
